This handsome pup is Santino, a 2 year old hound mix who has a crazy story. Santino came to us as a stray about 7 months ago, terrified of everything and shut down. He was decompressing in foster, and slowly coming out of his shell until he escaped his foster's home and ran. Since then, he has been spotted every single day on or near their property, eating the food left out in traps and around the home, and just evading capture, for FIVE months! Finally, after a huge effort from local pet search and rescue groups, and nobody ever giving up on him, Santino was finally caught and is back in a foster home to decompress and get healthy, again! He is obviously shaken from his ordeal, but very grateful for a warm bed and plenty of food and water. He is working on his confidence with his foster mom, and is going to be completely fine! He is working on his household manners, and he is gaining his confidence outside and around new things. Santino is going to make a wonderful family dog, he just needs a dedicated adopter who will give him all the TLC and patience he deserves to become the best boy! We promised Santino that the rest of his life, would be the best of his life.
