Hi! My name is Miriam and I am about 7 years old. I was originally adopted a few years ago, but recently had to be brought back because my adopters landlord raised their rent and monthly pet fee and they could not afford to keep me. I am a sweet girl who loves a good chin scratch! You may notice my right eye looks a little different. Here is a medical note from the veterinarian: Miriam has a congenital abnormality in her right eye called a "persistent pupillary membrane". It is not something that needs to be treated and will not progress to cause blindness. It was caused by the abnormal development of her eye tissue when she was in her mother's womb. Miriam has no activity restrictions due to her eye issue. Miriam had a dental procedure performed while she was here. She is missing most of her chewing teeth on the right side of her mouth. Because she required some extractions she may have some tenderness here over the next few weeks. She may be offered both canned and dry food so that if chewing is uncomfortable for her right now, she can still receive the nutrition she needs to heal. Canned food should be offered in a separate dish from her dry. If her dry food is being eaten completely then she no longer needs the canned food as part of her meal plan. I am spayed, microchipped, and up to date on my vaccines. I am available for adoption at the Pet Pantry’s main facility, 26 Millersville Road, Lancaster.
