Ace is a young boy who came to the shelter as a stray and has clearly been through more than his fair share in life. Ace has alopecia and very visible skin irritation, so needs a safe place to rest and heal. During a brief stay in a foster home he was house and crate trained, and did well when it came to getting his medicated baths. His foster said he loves treats, toys, mealtime and his daily walks. Sadly, Ace is a bit more shutdown in the shelter environment- here’s what one if his volunteer friends said about him:“I took Ace to a yard late in the evening. He`s slow moving and very reserved. I sat down in the yard and just began scratching him around his head and ears. He was very receptive to it and when I would stop he would move towards me as if asking for more. After some time together he explored the yard a bit and went potty. We went back to his kennel and he went right in and back to his bed. Ace is a heart breaker as he has serious skin issues. I really hope there is an adopter or foster out there that is willing to take Ace and help him heal as kennel life cannot be good for a dog suffering with these issues. I`m rooting for him.”Ace shares his shelter kennel with a pal and mostly kept to himself when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. If you can help this sweet boy, please ask about him today!!
