Sporty Spice Labrador Retriever Adult Female

Location:
Portland, OR
Description:

Who doesn’t love a super smart brindle girl with the best ears?! That’s right folks, Sporty Spice is available for adoption and she is ready to fill your life with love and happiness. Sporty checks all of the boxes and she knows it. She is always so happy and you can tell by her cute little wiggle butt that is constantly moving. She’s a happy girl and enjoys the simple things in life. Let's talk about those ears though! Her ears bounce around even when she’s just laying down. Her ears alone will keep you entertained and will keep a smile on your face. She really is a special lady and has so much going for her. Watch her video here: https://youtu.be/7sKx2ZzTndY?si=nHjW55d75z7drX1V Ginger Spice is a gorgeous brindle shepherd mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 46 lbs and is full grown! She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Sporty is a sporty girl! She loves to play with toys especially when she gets to pick out her own at the pet store. She loves to splash around in the water and she loves to explore with you. Sporty would make the perfect companion to take with you on hikes, to the beach or even working in the backyard with you. She loves to be outside and anywhere her people are. She likes to be a part of the action. Sporty can be a little shy at first and might need some time to fully open up and feel comfortable in her new home but once she is she becomes so loyal and very affectionate. Sporty is dog friendly and did great with all of the dogs we introduced her to. She would go up to meet them and then go on about her day. Sporty wasn’t overly playful with the other dogs and this can change once in a home. She does prefer calmer dogs that aren’t very rowdy or vocal with their play. For the most part, Sporty simply enjoyed being outside enjoying the fresh air and watching everyone around her or you would find her soaking in the pool. She also did great during our cat test and was very avoidant of them. She was so unphased by our kitty residents that she even shared the couch with one. We do not know if she has ever lived with a cat before nor can we guarantee that things won’t change once in a home. We do believe that with slow and proper introductions she can coexist with cats. Sporty will be best placed in a home with a backyard in a calmer residential environment and with other moderately playful dogs that know when to take breaks just like she does. She is treat motivated which will make any continued trained a breeze. She is also smart too! Sporty already knows how to sit and lay down but she will need to polish those leash skills because she pulls when she gets excited. To our knowledge, she is crate trained and potty trained but may need a reminder about where the appropriate potty places are once in a home. We are willing to test Sporty Spice with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $62 surcharge for transport.
