JR in TEXAS Dachshund Young Male

JR is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. We think that JR is a Dachshund/Rat terrier mix. He is shy and sweet but the terrier does come out once in a while when another dog does something he doesn't like. We are fairly certain he is still under a year of age - maybe even 6 or 7 months. He weighs 17 pounds. JR was absolutely terrified in the dog pound but is flourishing in his foster home. In the beginning, he stayed close to his foster mom but now he is starting to play with the other dogs. He prefers to play with smaller dogs and is still wary of the big ones. JR is crate-trained. He sleeps in a crate at night and is crated when his foster has to leave the house. JR is not house-trained and will wear a male wrap - although he sometimes gets it off - normally with the help of one of the other dogs. He is still young and needs general obedience training. He learns quickly and is fairly well-behaved in the house. JR must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and must have a secure, fenced yard to run and play. JR is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He is negative for heartworms and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. JR's out-of-state adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Hagerstown MD or Quicksburg VA. He is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after he is adopted.
