Blakely is a three-year-old, 45-pound lab mix that came in from South Georgia with her litter of four 3-month-old puppies. The puppies went to a foster, and she went to another foster. She wasn’t quite sure what to make of her new situation, but the fosters knew that she had to be frightened and confused and were patient with her, and she was coming around nicely. Being patient and providing positive reinforcement has helped her come out of her shell. Blakely now enjoys being around our family, playing with our small dog (she matches his level of rowdy play), and all the attention/petting we can give. Every day, her personality comes out a bit more, and she's a very loving dog. Clean in the crate and doing well on a potty schedule when free-roaming during the day. Blakely would do best when there's a work-from-home option most days or is retired, especially when getting oriented to a new home.
