Special Needs Cerebellar HypoplasiaLittle Benni has the spots of a wild cat, a zest for life and a heart of gold! Benni is one determined kit and he isn't afraid to go after what he wants. He loves to play with his siblings, fight felt mice and pounce on anything with feathers. He excels at climbing and is great at communicate with his foster person if he needs a little extra help. By day's end Benni finds comfort stretched out beside his foster person for a little belly rub.Benni was born with moderate CH also known as wobbly cat syndrome. When Benni gets excited he gets wobbly and when he gets really excited he sometimes does flips. Benni does daly PT exercises to help him better navigate his world and is figuring things out in his own way. It may take Benni a little longer to get where he is going but he always get there! This spotted kid fights for his independence everyday and doesn't need to be coddled. Benni goes where Benni wants to go and when he achieves his goal there is a sense of accomplishment that can be seen in his eyes. Benni will always have CH but it isn't progressive and he will learn how to use his body. He can walk on hard surfaces but has better footing on carpet and rugs. Benni has learned how to eat on his own but may need a little help with wet food and water intake until he masters this. Benni also takes pride in always using his litter box and tries really hard to cover it. Although Benni doesn't want to be treated any differently than any other cat it is hard not to love him just a little bit more!Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information. ** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience.HOW TO ADOPT: Check the animal's location. From Cat Adoption/Cattery/Free Roaming Room (in shelter):To meet this cat please come to Seattle Animal Shelter at 2061 15th Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119, between 1 - 5 pm one of on one of our open days, no appointment needed. We are open on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We are closed for adoptions on Monday, Friday, and all holidays. You can fill out a survey in advance and bring it with you: https://bit.ly/SAScatsurvey From Foster Care (out of shelter): 1. Copy and paste the adoption survey link into a new tab on your browser: https://bit.ly/SAScatsurvey 2. Download and complete the cat survey. 3. Save the survey to your device with a new file name that includes your last name. Make sure it's filled in when opened again. 4. Put the name of the cat(s) in the Subject Line of a new email. Attach your survey, add any additional information you would like us to know, and send to XXXX@gmail.com.
