Jazzy American Staffordshire Terrier Young Female

Location:
Vienna, VA
Description:

Meet Jazzy! This adorable puppy was found on the side of the road, very thin, with the evidence of an embedded harness still visible. She was tired and dehydrated on intake, but after a few weeks of TLC and a healthy diet, a new Jazzy emerged. She is a fun-loving, sassy, social pup with opinions on things, and we love her! Jazzy was fostered initially in South Carolina by Laine, Gary, and their pack of three large dogs and two cats. Even as a young, smaller dog, she had no fear of mixing it up with dogs three times her size. She does well as part of a pack and reads the other dogs well. She knows who wants to play and who is not in the mood…She was scared of the cats at first but now will chase them. If paired with a cat, she needs a dog-savvy kitty who will set her straight. Jazzy quickly learned the rules of home life. She is house and crate-trained and Laine has been exposing her to car rides and trips to the pet store, and she’s done well on every vet visit…She loves going to the vet and having the staff fawn over her. She is a very social puppy who thinks every stranger is her new best friend. . This pup loves her toys, especially hard chew toys, and likes to hoard her newfound treasures. This is a whole new world for this sweet girl, and she’s going to make the most of it. After being spayed, Jazzy came to town to start her new life. She has been in her local foster home for almost three weeks now living with her foster parents, Beth and Joe, and another young active dog named Harper. Beth checked in with this update: FOSTER UPDATE - 11/8/23 “Jazzy has been an excellent and patient friend for Harper. She is very easygoing and sweet. She tolerated Harper playing a little rough at first and now they have settled in to be the best of friends. They cuddle and play all the time and both are having a great time. Jazzy is constantly sitting or playing with Harper. We think she would do well having another playmate around, but she also loves to cuddle and be cuddled, so we think she would be fine as an only dog. We noticed if she gets her choice, she goes and sits with Harper. We would say she’s a medium-energy puppy. She’s happy to lay around the house all day as long as she gets a walk and playtime. She’s still a puppy so she naturally needs a lot of activity. She is housetrained and crate-trained, but her leash skills are a work in progress. She likes to pulley and if she sees another dog that is barking at her she will start to whine. She needs an owner who will work with her on leash skills. Overall, we think she’s really well-behaved for her age. We keep an eye on her but she hasn’t destroyed anything. We think if we only had Jazzy she would be super easy to take care of. Her personality is playful and cuddly. She is still a little nervous about new things and fearful of men at times, but once she warms up to a person she’s a little cuddle bug. Everyone who meets her instantly loves her because she is so sweet. We introduced her to Joe’s parents, brother, and my sister-in-law and she did great. My sister also watched her for us for a few hours and fell in love with her. Everyone loves her. Having Jazzy around has added a lot of energy to the house, she is endless cuddles and fun. It is constant playtime for both Harper and Jazzy. We think having Jazzy around has made Harper a more patient foster sister and has helped teach her to play gently. We love her spunky attitude and she can tumble with dogs three times her size and have a blast." **** We think Jazzy will be an amazing family dog and will be a great companion for another dog. She’s very tolerant and submissive, so would probably get along well with most dogs, but having another established dog in the home who likes to play would be ideal. Apply today to add this fun-loving little nugget to your life. She's adorable and will keep you entertained while being an amazing snuggle buddy.
