Charlie is approximately 2 yrs of age and is a blend of Lab/Heeler/Shep. Charlie came from a reservation in Utah with his brother who is also available for adoption. Charlie had had very limited contact with people and was highly fearful of them. He is working hard at overcoming his fear. All experiences that most people take for granted that their dogs know or are okay with will challenge Charlie because it is all so new for him. His life has changed from surviving on his own, and learning to avoid people to trusting them and being nurtured since he found himself in rescue. Charlie is very smart and learned early on that his kennel was a safe place where he could be left alone and decompress. He will go into his kennel on command now. He is potty trained and can even be trusted to stay out of the kennel to roam the home though he has been known to get bored and chew things up he shouldn’t. Charlie loves to play with other dogs of all sizes. He is confident when he is interacting with other dogs and will play pretty hard but also enjoys time chilling on the couch or bed. It will take time and patience earning his trust but once earned, he is a loving guy who enjoys scratches and may be learning that fetch might be worth trusting humans for.
