Tesla here from Great Lakes Dog Rescue! I'm a ten-month-old, 40-pound, lab/hound mix that is ready to begin my life with a loving family who can show me just how wonderful life can be. After arriving at GLDR with my brothers in April, my usual happy-go-lucky attitude was starting to fade as I began to struggle with kennel life. Thank goodness, an awesome volunteer stepped in and took me home to foster. Since spending time with my foster parents, I've come such a long way! My foster family calls me "Tessy" and I gotta say, it suits me! They are loving getting to know me and see me take steps towards being a more confident girl. Looking at my pictures, it's hard not to notice my adorable pout! Don't let that fool you though, living with my foster family is the best! I get to go on multiple walks everyday and am very curious about my surroundings. My happy place is the back yard!! I love to sit out on the patio and am fascinated by the birds and squirrels and appreciate every second of time hanging in the yard with my family. My foster mom works remotely and she says I'm a wonderful coworker. I'll hang in her office and enjoy some chew toys quietly while she works. I LOVE my snuffle mats and food puzzles! It would be great if my new family could get some of them for me too! When my foster family leaves the house, I hang out in my crate and wait patiently for their return. Sometimes I'll even head into my crate on my own for a nap, as it's my safe space. At bedtime, I sleep in my crate without a peep. My foster parents have done a great job getting me used to being in the car. They take me for pup cups which has helped a lot! Given that I'm still a young lady, continued training will be very beneficial for me in my new home! I thrive on routine and will do my best to adapt to yours. I'm happy to report I'm both house-trained and crate-trained. A home with a yard and room to explore in an absolute MUST for me! I'd prefer to live in a calm, predictable home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. I currently like living with multiple cats, and may be able to live with your cat as well. A home with another DOG is ESSENTIAL for me, as being around other dogs is key to bringing me comfort and confidence. I adore playing with other pups! Just look at my pics from when we visited our friends with dogs. I'm looking for a very special family, one that will be patient with me, and guide me along the way. I have no doubt that once I know I'm home, I'll love being part of your family and will repay you with years of loving memories.
