Darling Darla… Don’t let her bark and energy intimidate you. This girl simply has a zest for life like you wouldn’t believe. Before coming to the Center, Darla was a victim of a hit and run. A good Samaritan saw her roll off the pavement, found that she was still alive, and called for help. Since then, Darla has healed up and lives every day as if it were her last.Darla loves peanut butter, toys, booty scratches, chasing squirrels, and running around the yard. She is still young and has lots of energy! Once she gets her energy out, she doesn’t mind sitting in the air conditioning, chewing on a toy. She knows the “sit” command quite well and appreciates being rewarded with a treat for good behavior. She might bark when you first meet her, but deep down she is a sweetheart and a snuggle bug.Darla would prefer to be an only pet (at least at first) and would like to live in a home where she has access to a private, fenced in yard. (She doesn’t enjoy dog parks and, on her walks, prefers not to run into other dogs.) Her energy might be a bit much for young kids, but she has the potential to do well with older kids. She knows her forever family is out there and she can’t wait to meet them!
