HI, my name is Remy and I haven’t been with my foster home long, but they want you to know that my bravery skills are multiplying! I am timid and anxious as most people are in new environments and situations. But I’m learning a lot from the other dog in the house, that Bernadoodle who is a great example of what I need in a confident and social dog to show me how to trust and learn to dog. At first I wouldn’t come out of the crate but now I’m able to come out all by myself of a larger Xpen’d area. But sometimes, I do get afraid of a noise or quick movements and will splay flat on the floor. I do let my foster family pick me up and set me on their lap for snuggles. I do tinkle outside and I’m not a barker. Both of those are good skills, I’m told. There are both kids and cats here and I’m respectful of them, as they are to me. I’m gentle and submissive but am continuing with gaining confidence. I enjoy my snuggle puppy with a heartbeat (it’s a plush toy) but other toys I haven’t had the bravery to use them. I use a leash to go outside to potty. So if you tell me to “go potty” I know what that means. I would thrive with a confident and social dog in my forever home, but not a bossy one. I was in a different foster home with a bossy dog and I was very afraid of them. When I first came to a foster home, I’d stay in my kennel for weeks and wouldn’t eat until people left or went to bed. So I’ve made great strides and even have become brave enough to go for walks on a leash! Are you a home that can help me build my confidence and will be patient with my progress? Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans.
