Whenever an energetic, goofy, full of beans, bull in a China shop type of dog arrives at HFG, we all say “Oh, they remind me of Zoey.” Then we wonder how Zoey is doing. Well, now we know. She was adopted in September of 2020 and now she has come back. Zoey’s adopter moved in with someone and Zoey and the resident dog did not become buddies, so Zoey drew the short straw. Zoey is an American Pit Bull Terrier mix, and she turns seven on May 11, 2023. She used to weigh 44 pounds, but she has spent the past few years eating extra dinners, no judgment, and now she needs some assistance to get her girlie figure back. It is a term of endearment to call Zoey a whirling dervish. She is energetic, bouncy, spastic, and chaotic, and all in the cutest way possible. She can barely contain herself while she spreads her joy as fast as possible to as many people as possible. She is lovingly referred to as the resident gremlin. Zoey is full of grunts, kisses, and she does not understand personal space. Back in 2020, she had been turned in at the county shelter as a stray. The Good Samaritan who took Zoey off the streets found out that Zoey was not a fan of their cats. She is a physically strong girl, but she is receptive to instruction and training, and she really wants to please and receive your praise and affection. HFG is not lying when they say Zoey is bursting at the seams in anticipation of finding her forever home. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment.
