Hi. Malakai is my name. Iandamp;#39;m a big boy who came from a rough background and now Iandamp;#39;m safe at the shelter. If big, sweet boy dogs are your thing, Iandamp;#39;d love to introduce myself to you. Although my beginnings were sad, my future is full of happiness. I never had a chance to be a real dog, so experiencing life with my new family and friends is something Iandamp;#39;m really looking forward to. Shelter life can be stressful on a shy boy like me, so a home where the kiddos are older, like 16 years and up would be ideal. I would do my best and be the bestest boy as the only pet in the home! I just love people so much that I would love to be your one and only. Iandamp;#39;m really eager to learn what it feels like to live with a family and share all my love with you.Adoption processHours: Monday - Tuesday (by appointment only) | 11 am - 6 pmWednesday - Friday | 12 pm - 7 pmSaturday - Sunday | 11am - 7pm Please note that we operate by first come, first serve along with adoption approval. Wait times may vary depending on the time of week and day. We are reserving Mondays and Tuesdays for appointments for members of the public who are immunocompromised or are still uncomfortable being in large crowds due to COVID-19. Adoption Requirements:- Adopter must be 18 years of age or older.- Adopters must complete a survey and present photo identification to meet any of our animals.- For the safety and health of our animals, we do not ship pets.- Pet adoption fees range from $60 to $350. Our adoption fees help to offset the cost of evaluation, housing, feeding and medical care for the thousands of animals needing our help. We do our best to keep our adoption prices reasonable while generating income to support our goal of caring for animals available for adoption until we can place them in a loving home. The adoption fee for each animal varies and is dependent on many factors including: age, size, behavior, medical condition, and public demand.Shelter locationWe are open for adoptions, no appointment necessary, Wednesdays through Sundays from 12-7PM. On Monday and Tuesday, we are available for adoptions by appointment only. -We recommend (and in some cases require) that all members of the household meet the pet prior to adoption. -Great Plains SPCA runs background checks on adopters and adults in the home over 18.-Great Plains SPCA requires all visitors to wear masks that cover the nose and mouth at all times while inside our buildings.
