If you are looking for a young dog that is dripping with love and affection, look no further than this sweet yellow lab mix with one blue eye, Rhett Butler!! This guy is friendly to everyone he meets and will melt into your lap. He is kid and dog friendly. Cats are unknown, but he is pretty submissive so a cat who sets boundaries would likely be just fine. Rhett is house trained, but as always, a new pup needs an established potty routine and and attention to his signals to continue good habits. He will go into his crate when bribed with a nice, stuffed Kong or a fun chew toy, but he would much rather be with you. Rhett knows “sit” and doesn’t jump up on people. (He does think he’s a lap dog, though!!) Rhett is pretty good on a leash. He’s not reactive to other dogs walking by and on his first walk started learning not to pull with some basic redirection techniques. ** Rhett has recently graduated from the Puppies 4 Parole program through the Missouri Dept of Corrections. He was a model student during his 12 week training program and can't wait to show off everything he has learned. ** If you are interested, complete the Adoption Application on our website at www.NeedyPaws.org and we will contact you. Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Rhett Butler’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Their personal & veterinarian references will be checked, a home visit conducted then the Foster Parent will set up a meeting where the Adopters will meet the dog. If the adoption is approved, the Adopter will then complete an Adoption Contract and the dog is theirs! Adoption fees vary.
