Almost a year ago, we rescued Bobby and his siblings from the Collin County shelter where they were dumped at only three weeks of age without their mother. Several weeks later the litter broke with distemper. We sadly lost two puppies from the litter, but thankfully the rest of the litter, although they tested positive, never became symptomatic. The unfortunate thing is that even though the puppies never became symptomatic, they still tested positive for months so we could not make them available for adoption. Adopters always tend to be more interested in puppies when they are young and not when they are older. This is very unfortunate for Bobby, since he was five months old before he was even available for adoption. Bobby has not received one adoption application since being available for adoption. Bobby is a great dog! He is a big, beautiful, silly, and fun-loving boy. He loves his people and is good with other dogs. He is also crate trained and potty trained and has been through basic obedience training with Katelyn from the Tasch Pack as well as a 2 week board and train with Kilo and Frei K-9. He would not do well in an apartment setting and would be best with kids, eight and above. Per Wisdom Panel, Bobby is 1 year old and is a mix of 9 different breeds with the top 5 breeds being 27% American Pit Bull Terrier, 21% Australian Cattle Dog, 20% German Shepherd Dog, 11% Siberian Husky, and 9% American Staffordshire Terrier! We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority.
