Squeakers came to us when she had an accidental litter and the owner could not keep them. She was a very young mom, she is no more than 3-4 months old as of February 2024. Squeakers is nervous about people but has been opening up to her foster. She was protective of her babies, but her foster gives her a cheerio every time she fusses in the enclosure and now Squeakers is a lot more comfortable with hands in the enclosure. Her babies (Quiche and Frittata) are weaned now so she is ready for her forever home. She is an active and wiggly girl. We have been able to hold her briefly but she is still getting comfortable with handling and would prefer to keep her feet on the floor and just sniff you and take treats from you. With more time we expect her to get friendlier and more comfortable with you. She would do well with either beginner or experienced hamster owners as long as you are patient with her and willing to work at her pace to tame her. Treats are definitely going to be the way to her heart. We can meet within 1 hour of Minneapolis or Faribault for adoptions. Potentially further, please apply and we can discuss!
