Carolina Dog Mix Dog for Adoption in Mountain View, Arkansas, 72560 USNickname: Dewey Posted Breed: Shepherd / Carolina Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Dewey was found starving and rummaging through trash at a campground in the National Forest. He only weighed 32 pounds. He was brought to the shelter and we started him on a feeding regiment giving him small amounts numerous times a day. Dewey was heart worm positive and received treatment once he reached a healthy weight. He also had a severe infection that we treated with antibiotics. Dewey is now a healthy 62 pounds and his blood work shows no signs of infection! Despite his struggles, Dewey has been a BIG SWEETHEART through everything. He loves affection and just wants to be held and cuddled. He gives us hugs and lays in our laps, even though he is a large dog. Dewey also enjoys playing with other dogs and going for walks. He is house trained, neutered, up to date on shots and ready to find his new family!
