Description:

Coonhound Dog for Adoption in Candler, North Carolina, 28715 USNickname: Bandit Posted Breed: Coonhound. Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue. Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website. Contact Susan at 828-633-XXXX for more information or to adopt the pet. Bandit is a very handsome coonhound. He is about a year old and a healthy 42 pound neutered male. This boy is athletic and fun to play with; such a joy to watch him run with his frisbee at full speed around a fenced yard or chase a ball. He shows his intelligence as he learns to play with puzzle toys and “find it” games. He is pretty well house-trained. Bandit loves his crate and is quite comfortable being in it when his fosters are away or at bedtime. He has spent up to 11 peaceful hours in it. With his foster peeps, he is sweet and affectionate, gently nibbling on their ears or sleeping in their laps! However, Bandit will start his new relationships as a very cautious pup, especially shy with strangers or in new situations. But his curiosity will help him get past his cautiousness. If done gradually and slowly, he will make new human friends and adjust to new situations. A supportive structure is needed, with an owner(s) willing to provide time and patience to attain his true personality. His doggie introductions have gone well, and the fosters are arranging play dates for more socialization. He would probably do well in a household with another dog, but is untested with cats. Since hounds need their exercise, an active owner(s) is suggested for leash walks or at least a fenced yard. Bandit enjoys the adventure of his daily walks, using his hound nose to enrich his day. Currently, he is afraid of young children. An adoption fee of $100 helps ensure he goes to a good home and helps support the shelters that save dogs. He is up to date on his shots and heartworm preventative. If you think Bandit could be a great addition to your life, or if you have questions, please call his foster today! Susan 828-633-XXXX. The fosters also have videos available of his playfulness. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at petsmpravl for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
