Adopt Rock a White - with Tan, Yellow or Fawn American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed

Rock was adopted and returned due to the new apartment not allowing Pits. He is a very friendly, sweet guy that deserves a great home. He can be very strong on a leash. He is not male dog friendly but has gotten along with dogs in his previous home and in 1 of his foster homes. He is selective so a foster is recommended to make sure he gets along with all resident animals. He will resource guard his food when other dogs are near, and CANNOT be fed with other dogs. He acts too interested in cats, so should not be in a home with them. He did okay with livestock(cows and hogs) in foster, and would bark at them from a distance but would not chase or go after them. He is said to be kennel trained and housetrained. He does seem to have separation anxiety, so he should be crated when left alone. Rock knows how to sit, and will sit very pretty for a treat. He has been out on a walk with the White Horse Academy kids and did very well with them. Rock can be mouthy when he plays and will need some training to re-direct this behavior. Rock is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. All adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability. ECHS does not reserve adoptable animals for the public for any reason. Please note that availability is subject to change at any point in time per ECHS discretion.
