Look at that Mama go. She is upon her empty nesting days, never to bare another litter onto this earth. Consider her free and lucky!! Gertrude has a new lease on life, its called living for me and my person. Gertrude is shy, quiet, and really affectionate. She enjoys a quiet home with windows and sunshine. Somewhere smaller where she can spread out and not worry about others animals jumping on her head. She enjoys the company of calm dogs and cats. This girl likes to play, eat treats and more than anything be in your lap. Given her history of being a mama from the streets she can still be skittish at times, but when she warms up she is an amazing emotional support kitty. Some more info on her below!When she first came to Redemption Gertrude was a single mother to 5 kittens. All of whom were healthy, fat and adorable. She managed to keep them all safe through out most of winter and alive! We are beyond proud of her efforts. From the get go it was clear that babies and Gertrude needed some socializing, so we began our rehabilitative work with the little family of 6. Today they are sweet, playful, curious and becoming more trusting with each passing day.Gertrude has shown that she is very affectionate and has a lovely personality. She will walk around you and ask for pets, very happily receive them! She even enjoys hanging out in laps and will purr with delight. Mama gets along well in her foster home that has a few quiet dogs and some cats. She is a pleasant cat to be around, no fights, no fuss, but she is a little passive so its best she not be paired with a dominant predatory cat. Mama would do best in a home that is cat savvy and enjoys spending quality time with their cats. She can live with older children 15 and up, since crazy kid energy startles her.
