Gabriel has a lucky story. He was abandoned by his human and was then taken in to care by some lovely humans who refused to see him wander uncared for. He is looking for a real commitment, he bonds quickly to his person. Even at his mature adult age, he would love to be with a person who is active, hikes bikes, climbs, etc. He is so attentive and is treat motivated. He has now been neutered and his dental is all done as well. He's a super healthy guy ready to go! He is heartworm negative and started on heartworm and flea prevention. He has been in a long term foster now and house training is progressing well, and he is learning with the other pets in the home about outdoor and indoor behaviors. Gabriel is a lovely pet and is going to be a great companion. Please consider this nice boy for your next best friend. Gabriel weighs 17#, he is about 9 years old, he is microchipped, vaccinated, and he is on heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee is $275.Adoption process**If you are unable to pay the adoption fee ($250 and up), we are unable to place a dog in your care. Being unable to meet the financial obligations of pet care (recurrent or emergent) is one of many reasons why so many of these pets end up in rescue. It's not lack of love.**We require an adoption application, and then we will check references. We also check with vets. If the person is not LOCAL then we will partner with a local animal control to complete a home visit. There are adoption fees associated with the costs of veterinary care of the pet. We require an adoption contract to be signed to finalize the adoption process and we have an agreement that all our pets are to be Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. pets for LIFE. In other words, in the event that they can not stay in their adoptive home, they are not to be surrendered to another individual or rescue.Shelter locationWe hold adoption events at local Petsmarts, Specks, various other local venues mentioned on our website and social media.
