ABOUT CENTIPEDE Looking to add another dog to your home? Meet Centipede! This goofball is a 1 year old terrier mix. Centipede came to HAP as a stray when he was found tied to a pole. Despite being abandoned, he doesn't let it bring him down! Centipede is a big baby that loves affection and making new friends. He has a shy demeanor but opens up with scratches and treats. In addition to being a total mush, he is also a star in doggy playgroup. He knows basic commands, is very food motivated, and is gentle with people. Centipede has enjoyed breaks from the shelter through our Doggy Day Out program. Here's what our volunteers have to say about him: "Had a great day out with Centipede! He had a lot of energy and sniffed just about everything on our walk. He seems to know to sit and come and tended to stay close by while playing. Centipede was very eager to play fetch at the end of our day together and returned the ball with very little coaxing. He's a very sweet boy, and I hope he finds his forever family soon." "Centipede is a bit of a leash puller in the beginning and would do well with an active family to help him burn off some puppy energy. He did need to be motivated to get into the car but was easily bribed with some chicken. He did well on our walk but was a little scared of some bird watchers that had large cameras and gear." If you are interested in Centipede, you are welcome to submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is first-come, best-match basis. We are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in a specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come for the meeting to ensure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animal's spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
