American Pit Bull Terrier Mix Dog for Adoption in Burbank, California, 91502 USNickname: *FREDDIE PITTS JR. Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Freddie Pitts Jr. found himself at the shelter after being discovered as a stray here in Burbank. Though his origins remain a mystery, it's evident that someone invested some effort in training him, yet he still has room for improvement. Freddie knows basic commands such as sit and paw, but he requires additional work, particularly in mastering the `lay down` command. He also needs substantial training in walking properly on a leash due to his size and strength. Freddie is an EXTRA LARGE boy with a heart to match. Despite his imposing size, he's oblivious to his strength and may unintentionally overpower his handlers. He craves human companionship and thrives with structured activity. Freddie is not your typical couch potato; he may require a minimum of one hour of exercise daily to feel fulfilled. As the saying goes, a tired dog is a happy dog so even more than that would be ideal. Ideal Home: Freddie would flourish in a household with individuals who are physically capable of handling his size, preferably those with experience in owning extra large, strong breeds. A family with teenagers or adults who understand the needs of XL breeds and can manage their strength would be ideal. Due to his exuberance and potential to accidentally knock over small children or individuals with balance issues, households with young children are not recommended. Additionally, Freddie would be happiest and safest in a home WITHOUT cats. We have not tested Freddie with other dogs yet, a meet and greet will be required if there are already dogs in the home.
