Chow Chow Dog for Adoption in Palmer, Alaska, 99654 USNickname: BRYER Posted Breed: Chow Chow (medium coat). Bryer is a sweet older chow who came to our shelter as a stray through our night drop. We donât know much about Bryerâs history before he was brought to us, but we know that he has won over everyone he has met here. Bryer is at least nine, potentially older so those that consider adopting Bryer must be prepared to provide him only the finest, softest things in life for this senior. Bryer does have medical issues â not uncommon for a senior â we believe Bryer is mostly deaf, if not completely deaf. To wake him, we often have to touch him to get him roused. You may first notice Bryerâs tail, it is stuck in the position it is in â we donât know what happened, but that it is a little painful for him. Being a chow, Bryer will need regular grooming as he came to us matted and needed shaved in his hind end. Groomers would need to be gentle and patient with Bryer as his pain does extend to his legs and possibly spine. With this, small kids and exuberant dogs would not be a fit for Bryer to prevent causing him accidental pain. We donât have a history on how Bryer is with other animals, but this senior is looking for a retirement home that will allow him to enjoy the remainder of his time in comfort, spoiled adoration for however long that may be.
