Sassy is a sweet 3-5 year old lab mix (vet estimates on the younger end). She’s a big girl at 73lbs, but thinks she is the size of a lap dog. Sassy loves her foster family and will push herself up against them or flip up their hand so they will pet her. She can be fearful of new people and is selective as to whom she trusts. She will require a patient adopter and will do best in a quieter environment without a lot of new people coming in and out. Sassy loves being outside and will sit by your side for hours. She is friendly with the resident dogs, but seems to prefer her foster family to the other dogs. She is doing well walking on a leash and likes to keep by your side. Sassy will be a loyal companion for years to come if you give her a chance The adoption fee of $250 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. For dogs/puppies this covers spay/neuter, microchip, dewormers, flea and tick preventative, heartworm test (only over 6 months of age) and all up to date, age appropriate vaccinations. Cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and dewormed. We require an adoption application and a home visit prior to adoption. We schedule meets with approved adopters only, so you must download our PreAdoption Application from our website at www.starfishanimalrescue.com and follow the instructions to email it to us.Shelter locationWe are not a shelter. We are a group of pet lovers and advocates who are committed to targeted rescue. Starfish Animal Rescue is a licensed rescue that is run by an all volunteer staff. Once we rescue a dog or cat, it is placed in one of our foster homes until we are able to find it a suitable home. We are happy to set up an appointment to meet our pets once we receive and review your completed application.
