Description:

Hi. My name is Alba and here is some info about me: Breed: Spitz/Terrier Age: 10 monthsGender: FemaleWeight:15 lbHeight: 11 inch Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, cats, and people. Hi there! My name's Alba, and I'm an 10-month-old spitz terrier mix, ready to sprinkle some joy into your life! Life's been a bit of a rollercoaster for me. You see, my first mom had to go and do grown-up things, so she left me behind. It made my heart a little heavy, but guess what? I got scooped up by an incredible human who rescued me! Now, I'm lsafe and sound living in this shelter. Let me tell you, my face is like a cute button – irresistible, at least thats what I have been told. I'm a loving machine! Getting along with cats, dogs, and humans is my superpower. Furry friends are fantastic, but there's something special about human company that makes my tail wag extra fast. Unfortunately, its not a safe world out there outside of the shelter, so i am kinda stuck here for the time being. Sometimes I take myself on imaginary walks– in the woods where I imagine the smell of pine and the crunch of leaves under my paws, by the water where I dream of splashing around, and in the imaginary doggie park where I run wild with my buddies. Cant wait for the day that my dream comes true. I've got this itch to learn, I'm one smart pup, and I can't wait to show off a trick or two. Maybe a high-five or a rollover. Learning is like a treat for my brain, and I'm ready to impress! I have never displayed any aggression towards my friends or humans at the shelter and I have been so good at sharing my space with everyone. Living here with all my friends is fun, but I'm secretly holding out for that magical day – the day when my forever family find me. I'm patiently waiting for a family to call my own, someone to take me on real walks, teach me tricks, and snuggle with me on the couch. My happily ever after is just around the corner, and I can't wait for my new family to find me. Will you be the one to make my dreams come true? Energy Level: Medium/high still a puppy and requires daily physical activities. I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yes, I walk away from them. they are prickly!Kids: yes, no video proof. Fears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: yes. - Please be patient with me. I am a very fast learner and given the opportunity, I will learn all the tricks there is in no time.Leash skills: Please be prepared to continue training me. House trained: Please be prepared to help me master this skill. Health notes: I have been spayed, dewormed, microchipped and up to date on my vaccination. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.##1954025##Adoption processWe offer a foster to adopt program for adopters of overseas dogs. As they will be taking their dog home straight from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit. In the rare times the dog isn’t found suitable we will find the dog another home.
