Georgia is an elegant older lady looking for a peaceful home with a human or two willing to earn her trust. This hound mix is estimated to be around 9 years old and was spotted running loose near the USCG Station in Alexandria; It took our animal protection police a few weeks to coax her into a humane trap. Here at the shelter, Georgia is wary of people but will come forward for treats and happily interact with people she has begun to trust. Georgia only wants gentle human roommates as she does not seem to trust other dogs-we strongly recommend her being the only dog in your home.If you'd like to meet Georgia, come visit during our opening hours! We're open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5pm, Thursdays and Fridays 12-7pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 11am-5pm.
