James and Ronnie have spent their lives up until now as the devoted companions of a disabled Veteran. These boys have been well loved and given as much love and more back . Sadly, the one they loved so well is no longer able to be with them. If you read through the letter that came with them (included in the photos below), you will understand why we are saying Ronnie and James must be kept together. An amazing Underdog foster home stepped in to give these boys a holding spot while we search for a special family looking to double up on four legged love and cuteness. They are an easy pair who have proven to be resilient, adjusting quickly in their move to foster. They are fully house trained, and love to go outside rain or shine. Their foster home has a fenced yard that they delight in sniffing and exploring. They listen well and know several commands: Sleep Time/Sit/Stay/Slow/Quiet/Stop/Time to eat. They even have a good sleep schedule. Around 8pm you let them know its bedtime and they curl up on the end of the bed for a good 8 to 10 hours of peaceful sleep. James, 7 years old, is a sweet and loyal fellow who has learned his role as an emotional support dog well. He is best described as a short legged compact 38Lb huggable teddy bear. He will sit beside you, and literally try to melt into you. He loves to play with toys, mealtime, and has yet to meet a treat that he does not enjoy. Good on leash for walks and always up for a car ride. Super happy boy that would love someone that has lots of time for cuddles, and belly rubs. Ronnie is a very loving little 15lb short dark gentleman with a tail that never stops wagging. He is happy to lay on a soft blanket on the couch and tends to be a little more independent. Ronnie watches James for direction. If James heads to the door, Ronnie will immediately join him for an outdoor adventure. James also lets Ronnie know if there is a possible snack coming, which next to belly rubs is one of Ronnie’s favorite things. These boys are available through Underdog’s senior-for-senior adoption program, $180 adoption fee. Should there be a Veteran that has a place in their heart and home for this pair, their adoption fee would be fully sponsored. Otherwise their bonded pair adoption fee is $350. Ronnie and James are being foster on the Oregon coast, Bay City, OR. You can see about a meet with them by completing an Underdogs Rock Rescue adoption application online at underdogsrock/adoption-application Meets and home checks are part of the adoption process. Everyone in an applicant’s household must be able to meet at the foster’s location. Home checks can be done virtually or in person.
