Hi, my name is Sha-Rock and I'm from a shelter in Kentucky. From the foster: All of Sha-Rock's buds call her Piggy because she gets the cutest little snorts when she is super happy. Piggy is a whole lot of love and fun. She's about 8 months old and is having a blast learning how fun the world can be. Her favorite things include: -Snuggles in soft blankets -Toys -Snoofing out in nature -Blueberries -Zoomies with dog friends While she's still very much a puppy, she's a smart cookie and has learned a lot of commands (sit, lay down, wait, come here), tricks (shake, spin), and manners (walking on a leash, being quiet in her kennel, being calm and sweet during car rides). She's the only dog I know who takes play breaks between bites during meals. She hasn't been food motivated but still loves the fun of treat dispensers, puzzles, and doing tricks for praise. She's still polishing up her manners around not jumping or barking when excited, but has made great progress in the short time we've been fostering her. She was labeled leash reactive in the past, but I have only seen her get excited and barky when there's a leash/fence/window and fast moving dogs on the other side. She is a complete sweetheart meeting new dogs on leash if they're not running around and you take it slow. Piggy loves to hang around with her human and dog buds more than anything. After slow introductions, she now gets along famously with my two 70lb shepherd mixes. They love her because she likes to play tug, share her treats, and army-crawl under the couch to retrieve lost toys. Piggy would love to join a family with older kids and dogs who can handle her 50 lbs of puppy and continue reinforcing good manners. She isn't the best at reading and responding to aggressive dog behavior, so may need more attention and longer introductions with dogs who like their personal space. I think she'd be great as an only dog too if she has someone to play and cuddle with her. She loves her outside walks and totally gets the zoomies, but mostly lays around chewing on or playing with toys. She could do well in a quiet, low energy home or a more active home as long as toys and outside time are included. Piggy loves meeting new people and would love to show you how sweet she is. If you're willing to give her a chance, I know she will be a loyal and loving family member. Most of my family has already fallen to her charm and will miss her, but I am so excited to find her a forever family to bond with and watch her grow.
