Hi, my name is Maggie Mae. I am a shy girl that takes a minute to warm up to you, however I tend to get possessive of females in household settings when there are men around. I really would do best in a female only household. I love pets, hugs and kisses from the people that I'm comfortable around. Once I feel comfortable with you, I will be very excited to see you, and you may tell me to stop jumping and that I'm being a little "Extra" but I'm just so happy to be around you. They are trying to teach me to be a little less enthusiastic to greet you but I'm a work in progress. For that reason, I would probably do best around bigger kids only. I have gotten along with every dog that I've met here at the shelter and it would be fun to have someone to play with. My favorite things are stuffies! I love to get a new toy and they show it off to all my friends at the shelter. I also like to keep it in my mouth when I go for my walks. Walks are nice and I do really well on my leash. Have I mentioned that I really like treats, who doesn't right! Sometimes they ask me to sit and then I get a treat. I bet I could be trained to do a lot of things with treats. I also enjoyed the pool that they had here at the shelter when it was so hot out. I enjoyed laying in the pool and then having someone dry me off like I am at the spa. NOTES ABOUT OTHER DOGS: Maggie Mae has been okay with other dogs who can handle her energy level. She is overly enthusiastic and does not know personal space with other dogs. In the home setting Maggie has exhibited jealousy issues towards other dogs.
