We adopted Ash from a friend of ours as a newborn kitten. After he was fixed, he started not liking to be held, cuddled, petted, and if so, it was on his terms. He doesn't seem to like us and prefers our German Shepherd. He will go from wanting to be on our lap and cuddling to suddenly hissing at us and jumping down growling. We have consulted our vet and have tried everything, however nothing has made Ash happy except our dog. We feel as though Ash would be a great barn cat and/or a companion for another cat or dog. It is uncertain if Ash is bi-polar or has a mood disorder - or he simply does not like his humans. We want Ash to find a home that he can be happy in. He does not even recognize his name yet after all these years. If we cannot find a home for him, we will have to surrender him to a local shelter. It is heartbreaking to us and we want him to be happy.
