This handsome, but seasoned looking dog, is called Eisenhower and we think he has the soul of a champion. Located in rural TN in foster care, this sweet 60-lb boy is a German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix that is estimated to be only 5 yrs old despite his prematurely greying face. What the foster reports is that Eisenhower is great with children and all other dogs, and miracle of miracles, he ignores the cats and chickens. He sounds perfect in so many ways and he truly is! He is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped. What we do know is that he will need a sturdy privacy fence as he will try to jump a short chain-link fence or will run through an electric fence. He has perfect house manners and is housebroken, uses a doggy door, is pretty darn good on a leash but still learning. After a life on a chain, he has adjusted to indoor dog life really well and is ready for a forever home! We have been so impressed with this boy that had limited training in life and certainly no inside privileges to teach him how to act. He has just come by it naturally and with such class. This dog is a survivor and he is going to be a prized dog in some family’s book of life and dogs that came and went and dogs who will always be top of the heap.
