Say hello to beautiful Opal! This sweet girl is around 8 years old. She's a rescued puppy mill mama Bichon. Like so very many of these so-called breeder releases (i.e. no longer producing sellable puppies so no longer of any value to the business operators) she is timid and unsure of life outside of a locked box. So far, in my home, she has proven to be animal friendly (dogs and cats) and accepting of love - though loving hands make her very nervous still. She watches my every move with curiosity and will lay herself down in the same room as the rest of us - she does not hide. When she doesn't think I'm looking, she rolls in the grass as if she's never felt anything so luxurious- and it's doubtful she ever has. She must have a fenced-in yard at her new home as a leash isn't an option for this sweetheart. She is going to need time and lots of patient, unconditional love and support to transition into a new life.
