This dapper dude is Petey, and he just happens to be in the market for a forever family he’s able to call his own! Petey (male) is 7 months old, and — best we can guess — is possibly a labrador/maybe dane(?)/shepherd cross. He’s right around 60lbs+ and by the size of his paws, will definitely get a bit bigger! Petey has proven to love ALL dogs (both big and small!), is good with cats, and is even chicken/duck-friendly! Therefore he’d be the perfect addition for a family on a farm/in the country, or one with small animals. He’d feel right at home! Unfortunately, Petey has not *completely* figured out his true size as he grows. He is convinced he’s still a small lapdog (he’ll do anything he can to snuggle up on your lap!), and can be a bit of a bull in a china shop when indoors. But he’s learning every day! And on the opposite end of the spectrum…it’s truly amazing to watch Petey interact with smaller dogs/cats. He is oh SO gentle! When it comes to toys, this boy doesn’t discriminate! He loves all toys, and — even despite his strength — doesn’t rip them apart! His true passion, though, is for shoes …so those will need to be tucked away! Petey is kennel-trained and does great when crated during the day. At nighttime, his favorite is cozying up in bed with his humans! He has had a couple of accidents during his transition into his foster home, but overall when on a consistent schedule is doing wonderfully with his housebreaking! Petey can be a bit unsure of new people/new situations, so will need someone who is willing to teach him that every day things (loading up into vehicles, meeting friends, adventures, etc.) aren’t so scary! Because of these insecurities (+ his size), we would recommend a home without young children/toddlers. Petey loves going for walks…but does tend to pull, so will need continued practice/training. He would love a fun, active, friendly, lovable family to call his own! And another pup in his forever home would be a bonus!
