We are so sad that we have to write this...but Pumpkin Pie is back in our care. Yesterday we received a phone call from another rescue. They told us that a woman was trying to find a rescue for Pumpkin Pie as her boyfriend brought her home and she's unable to care for her as she's pregnant. Come to find out, the original people that adopted her from us were planning to euthanize her because their other two dogs at home were beating her up. So, the family stepped in to prevent that from happening. WHAT!? We were never contacted about this situation by the original adopters. We are so happy that the other family stepped in to prevent Pumpkin Pie from being euthanized FOR NO REASON and helping get her back to us. The family said that she was a little scared of the boyfriend, leading us to believe that the original adopters were not very nice to her. However, she is doing great with our male employee. She is also doing great around the other dogs despite what she's been through. Of course she wasn't kept current on vaccines or preventatives either. So we will be bringing her up to date so she can go to her final loving home. Pumpkin Pie is a 6 month shepherd/husky mix. Our dogs/puppies are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed and are current on flea/tick prevention.Our adoption donation for our adult dogs is $200.00 and for our puppies it is $350.00. Adopting a puppy is a lifetime commitment.
