BOWEN (ORSRC#2196) and BENTLEY (ORSRC#2195) in NC Adult Male

Location:
Lenoir, NC
Description:

OWNER PLACEMENT ASSISTED BY SCHNAUZER RESCUE OF THE CAROLINAS BOWEN (ORSRC#2196) and BENTLEY (ORSRC#2195) are Mini Schnauzers were adopted by a loving family who now has the responsibility of caring for their elderly parents. This means the loving family can no longer provide the love and attention that these Mini brothers deserve. Because they love Bentley and Bowen so much, they have decided it is best to find them another loving adoptive home so SRC has agreed to assist by posting an Owner Placement. Both Minis are approximately 6 years old and weigh approximately 19-20 pounds. Bentley is a dark salt and pepper while Bowen is a light-colored salt and pepper. These neutered males are very bonded with one another, and it is important that they be adopted together. Both dogs did go to a doggie day care some time ago and they got along well with other dogs according to the family. They like staying at home together and are happy together so there will be no consideration of separating them. There are personal items that will come with these canines, so please check with SRC prior to purchasing items for them. They should be adopted into a home that has no other dogs so that they will receive ample attention since they are used to being given a lot of love and attention. They have been kept on heartworm preventative and the last time they were tested they were both negative. According to the family, Bentley has had a dental cleaning and Bowen, when examined, did not require one. The family says that the dogs have been healthy with no issues to date. They are being fed Hill's diet to keep them healthy and a small amount of this food will be made available to the adoptive parents when they adopt these Minis. SRC is posting them for the family so that they may be placed with another loving family who is knowledgeable about the Schnauzer breed. All vetting for the first 6 months for the dogs when they are adopted will receive a tax letter from SRC (copies of receipts provided for the total will be necessary). The family states that both Bowen and Bentley are very friendly and love older children. They do not care for cats and should be placed in a home that does not have cats or other dogs. They have not been around other dogs so it is hard to say how they would relate to a dog that is already in the household. Like a typical Schnauzer, both dogs will chase rabbits and squirrels. Bentley and Bowen have very little leash training, so a fenced yard will be necessary. They are said to be housebroken yet they prefer being inside as much as possible rather than outside. They are crate trained and enjoy sleeping in their crate together. Both Minis love to cuddle and really enjoy petting. They really enjoy playing with their toys and will play fetch with them – returning them when they are thrown. Approved applicants may arrange a visit to meet Bentley and Bowen. The final decision as to who adopts these precious boys will be up to the family that is placing them for adoption. Since their vetting will need to be brought up to date, an economical donation is requested. In addition to this donation, a tax letter will be provided for all vet expenses during the first 6 months (copies of receipts required). THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED AT: OWNER'S RESIDENCE, HICKORY, NC THE DONATION BEING REQUESTED IN HONOR OF THE ADOPTON IS: $400 TOTAL_____ Please submit a completed adoption application and with that application, submit vet records for any pets you have had within the last 5 years along with photos of your residence including the yard (including the fencing). The owner of this Schnauzer will review all approved applications and documentation that SRC sends to them. They will contact you to ask questions and to answer any questions you may have. At that point if a meet and greet has been scheduled, an adoption contract will be sent to you which you must sign and return to SRC. If the meet and greet goes well, your donation of $ (tax deductible) may be made online so that the release of the Schnauzer may happen. SRC will notify the owner of this Schnauzer when the donation is completed so that they may release the Schnauzer to their new adoptive home. SRC will register his/her micro-chip in the new adoptive parents’ name(s) at no additional charge.March 21, 2024, 12:11 amIf you have any questions or would like to adopt BOWEN (ORSRC#2196) and BENTLEY (ORSRC#2195) in NC, please reach out to the adoption group directly.
