Roxi grew up in a backyard along with a few other dogs, including her parents. Roxi is a bit undersocailized, both to unfamiliar dogs, and to the world in general, so she`ll need some patient, understanding guidance in a new home. Roxi may benefit from living with another dog savvy dog, or having friends with social dog savvy dogs that she can interact with on a regular basis. We recommend positive reinforcement training to help build her confidence and understanding of what behavior is preferred in various settings and situations. Dobermans are highly intelligent and thrive on mental stimulation, and as she is presumably mixed with another high-drive breed, adopters should be prepared to work with Roxi to fulfill her needs fully. Please come down to the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter to meet with Roxi and see if she would be a good fit for your home.
