Meet Hula Hoop! Hula Hoop came to us with her 8 babies in early May. She is finished being a mama and now babies and mama are all ready to find their forever homes. Our vet estimates that Hula Hoop is 2 ½ years old, so she is full-grown and about 45 lbs. We think she is possibly a shepherd/husky mix – the husky being in the guess because of her one blue, one brown eye. Hula Hoop is great with other does and likes to play. She is shy with people, but learning to trust. She has shown no aggression at all – when she is nervous she just retreats. Working with her, she now takes food out of our hands and is learning to appreciate and enjoy pets, rubs, and scratches. She walks decently on a leash – she is very curious, just cautious. She is calm and gentle and we think she would be fine with children. We haven't had her around young children, but her nature makes us think may really like them. We just do not know. Hula Hoop will need an adopter who is willing to spend time bringing her out of her shell. Having another dog who is confident may help with that too. She loves and trusts dogs more than people at this point.
