Yes Heart Worm Negative? yes Good with dogs? Yes Resource guarding? Yes, common in dogs that are being fostered among other dogs. Bark / noisy? No Good with kids? Yes Good with cats? NO Energy level? Medium. Has experience on a leash? Yes Potty trained? Churpy is clean in her space and follows the rules of the facility where she is currently at. She goes to the bathroom along with other dogs in a patio. Her demeanor indicates that she comes from a home. She will easily adjust to any home environment. Crate trained? Yes. Where does the dog stay when it is alone? She is currently being boardered with other dogs, so she is hardly left alone. Churpy is a well behaved dog that finds her own space and can be easily an only dog. Please note that it is recommended not to leave dogs alone for more than 4-6 hours at the time when first introduced to new home environments. Make sure they have everything they need to be comfortable and safe. Where does the dog sleep? Inside her kennel space. Temperament/Personality: She is a well behaved dog , friendly with a loving personality. She is also very intelligent. That is what helped her develop street smart abilities, enabling her to survive in the streets with her new born puppies. She is intuitive and alert, as all terriers are. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to be with people and does anything in order to bring a smile or be rewarded with a cuddle. What does the dog's ideal home look like? A house or apartment with a family or a person that is looking for a loyal companion that loves scruffy wire hair dogs. She will make the best companion that is always ready to tag along for love and cuddles. Churpy has an upbeat personality that attracts anybody that meets her. She gets along great with kids and can be also a second dog. What is the dog's rescue story ? When you meet Churpy with her happy character and contentment with life, it is hard to imagine that she was rescued 10 months ago in the worst possible conditions in a low-income area of Guadalajara, in an abandoned lot along her 3 newborn puppies, trying to survive. Neighbors say they were up to 6 puppies spotted, but they were disappearing one by one, probably taken by kids or other street dogs. That is when a good neighbor started gaining Churpy’s trust by giving her food. And as soon as she allowed him to get near them, she was taken along her puppies into a foster home among other rescued dogs ( December 2023). Unfortunately, and during that period of time it was detected that Churpy and her growing puppies were being mistreated by the people in their foster home. Trying with no luck to find them suitable homes in the city, Churpy`s family case came to the attention of NWG rescue partner in Guadalajara, and they were immediately transferred to an adequate private facility where they could be properly attended. Her remaining puppies have grown to be very different from her. They are larger than her and very different. But still Churpy is content after 10 months of still mothering them and having them near. There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that Churpy will find her much deserved home. Churpy is waiting in Mexico until a family is committed to fostering her or taking her on a trial.
