German Shepherd Dog Puppy for Sale in LUFKIN, Texas, 75904 USNickname: Litter of 6 First, we are not breeders. This is the first litter that we have ever had so please be patient if we do not have immediate answers for normal breeder questions. We decided to breed these two GSDs together because Dixie (our female) has literally been the best dog we have ever had and we wanted one of her offspring. Her coat is softer and she sheds less than our previous GSD. But, most importantly to us was her and the sire's intelligence and demeanor. Even though she is an XXXL female (she was 109lbs when bred) and can look ferocious when in protection mode, she is a gentle giant when it comes to all people. Her intelligence and willingness to please is remarkable to say the least. She is the first dog that we have owned where we did not need the assistance of an E-collar to train her. Daddy is an average sized male and is 80lbs. He is not ours. He is owned by a friend of ours and we have experience many barbeques and cookouts where Copper was present. We were able to see how he reacted to different people and dogs, and most important to us, how he acted around children as they ran and played around him. Even though he is in an area where he roams freely, gates and even doors have to be locked to keep him out as he will figure out a way to open them. This is just a few of the many reasons why we wanted to bred these two together. Also, for those that want to know, dad is AKC registered, however Dixie's papers were lost by her previous owner. We did submit her DNA to Embark and her DNA results show that she is 100% GSD. We also did the DNA health analysis and are willing to share those results. The only thing that came back as a potential concern is that Dixie may be allergic to some medications. Other than that, everything came back great!As of now the pups are 9 weeks old and current with their shots. They are also being successful at training with the commands sit and are working on laying down.
