Meet Sam Sam, a uniquely male ‘Splash Boston’. SamSam os mostly blind, but he is a fast learner and has adapted quickly to the new surroundings in his foster home. He is a very affectionate boy who likes to stick close to his person. SamSam would be best in an only dog home where he has human company for part of the day. He would also do best in a home with a fenced in yard so he can roam (with supervision).He loves playing tug-of-war and snuggling up next to his humans, especially with his head under a blanket. Due to his blindness and unknown prior living conditions, SamSam has shown fear aggression with restraint. (i.e., vet visits, putting on his collar) but has shown some improvement while in foster care. The Basics Age: 4.5 years Weight: 20 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes On Heartworm Prevention: Yes On Flea/Tick Prevention: Yes House-Trained: Mostly. He has been learning in his foster home and will stand at the door when he needs to go out. May have occasional accidents when not supervised. Crate-Trained: Yes, may whine at first but eventually settles in. Leash Skills: None Medical: Sam Sam is mostly blind due to cataracts and previous corneal ulcers that left him with scarring, per his vet. He’s able to sense some shadow movements on his right side, but not in the dark. He is on Trazadone for behavior when needed. Likes/DislikesToys: Likes buffalo horns, squeaky toys (with supervision), and playing tug of war. Other Animals: Does not get along with other dogs. He is curious about cats, especially when they meow, but he usually backs off and finds interest in something else. People/Kids: Loves adults. Not tested with children. Must have an adult-only home.
