FOSPICE ALERT! Please meet Blue Iguana! No, he’s not actually an iguana, he’s a dog! But, when there are a lot of dogs named Blue at the shelter, you get an exotic last name to set you apart! Blue is an extra special boy who really needs your help urgently. He has a large mass on his foot that the medical team cannot remove, so this absolute sweetheart of a dog needs a fospice home where he can be pampered for the rest of his days!! While the word fospice may sound a little scary, Blue is full of energy and life and just needs a comfy place away from the shelter and a loving person or family. Giving an animal like Blue that kind of home is so rewarding!! Here’s what some of his volunteer besties said about Blue:“Blue is a big boy with a big heart. He’s friendly, tolerant, playful, easygoing, and a little bit goofy. He definitely seeks out people and eagerly welcomes attention and affection – he has no personal space requirements! He’s super easy to leash up - he’s a big boy and can be a strong puller but, generally, he’s an easy walker once he takes care of potty business. He’s treat motivated and is always willing to gently sample whatever you have on hand and he’ll even do a quick sit before he eagerly comes forward to softly push his face into yours! He’s also a great mix of energy – he’s playful and fun in addition to being an excellent couch potato. He’s also a bit of a “pitty-potamus”- when he’s out for walk and sees a puddle of water, he runs over to wade through it!”“Blue Iguana is a friendly guy who`s very easy to leash up and exit the kennel. He was eager to take his potty break and to sniff everything. He sat for me to earn treats and was attentive throughout the walk, looking back often with his big smile. He`s not reactive to other dogs or ducks in the park. I love this big silly boy.”“I met Blue for the first time today and found him to be a very easygoing, friendly, happy, and goofy guy. We went to the play yard and he went potty and enjoyed calmly walking around. He came whenever I called him and he checked in often with me and enjoyed having companionship. On the way back inside, he saw a large pool of water left from the rain the night before and proceeded to pull me over to it so he could walk through it - he might enjoy a doggie pool! He`s a big boy but tolerant, well-behaved, and easy to handle.”Blue can be choosy with his doggy friends, so would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home
