Description:
Check Mate was rescued from Wayne County Animal Control. He was brought in with no past information on health care or personality. He is estimated to be between one and two years old. At the vet's office, his foster mom gave him the birthday of February 14, 2022, because he still seems very puppyish and his paws are still very soft. He also had a broken rear left leg that was not re-set and thus healed in a bad way. He still walks, runs with no problem. We call him Check for short. He has been neutered and is up to date on shots and preventatives. He weighs 20 pounds and is delightful to be around. He jumps into his foster mom's lap when she sits down and demands some snuggles. He's learning about crate training and while he's not been in our care long enough to know for certain, we think he's house trained, too! He probably won’t do well with cats, is a little territorial with food and needs a fenced yard.
