Andi was rescued from a rural area by one of our wonderful animal advocates after months of perseverance to trap her. A person threatened to shoot Andi because she kept running off with their FedEx packages. When Andi joined the rescue she was skittish and avoided human touch. Her amazing foster family has been working on socializing her and she has made so much progress! She now gives her foster parents hugs and even lets them pick her up! Andi loves chasing the squirrels in the backyard, playing with her foster sister, Sammie, and is even learning how to play fetch. Andi is 3 1/2 years old and we are guessing she is an Australian Cattle Dog/Shepherd Mix. She will require another dog in the home to continue to help her come out of her shell. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.##1723308##
