Update: Joey's adopter had to move and can't keep his dog with him. They say he is sweet and very playful. Loves chewing on hard toys, playing with small and large dogs at dog parks and car rides. Also loves tennis balls but can chew into pieces which need to be taken away. Like many dogs, Joey should not be suddenly hugged or disturbed when sleeping since he startles and could bite before realizing what is happening. He should be in a home with adults who know not to disturb a sleeping dog. He is house and crate trained.Previous to this adoption, Joey was an owner surrender with great house manners including being completely potty trained. He does not jump up on people or counters. Joey sits and takes treats gently. He slept in a crate at night but had free reign of the house during the day. Joey does like to chase cats. He will chase a ball and will return it (almost every time).Joey's ears were cropped but not properly posted so they don't stand.Adoption processWe ask that all prospective adopters send us an adoption application. After we have screened it and approved your application, you will be offered an appointment to visit our facility in Grand Prairie and meet with members of Doberman Rescue of North Texas. .Shelter locationFill out an application and wait to hear from our screener. Once approved our volunteer will contact you and you will be offered and appointment on Sunday's only. Bring a collar and leash. Bring your drivers license or other identification. Bring a check or cash for your adoption donation. We do not accept Paypal and do not keep cash on hand to make change Know the name of your vet clinic and its telephone number. You will need to put it on the adoption contract.
