With his loving gaze and heartwarming presence, Colonel captures the hearts of everyone he meets. Despite his size, he's incredibly gentle and is already ready for a cuddle. He has a heart full of loyalty and affection to offer, and eagerly seeks belly rubs and ear scratches from anyone willing to give them. Colonel's perfect day includes a nice walk with his person, maybe some playtime with any type of water (he especially loves to chase the hose!) and then lots of snuggles. He is great with other dogs and does love to play. His foster mom loves his little hop he gives with his front feet when he is extra excited! Being a big boy, his owner should be one familiar with the breed or one that can be a confident owner that sets clear boundaries for him. His foster mom thinks a quieter setting would be better for him versus city living as this big guy is used to the country life. After years of being a devoted and cherished family member, circumstances beyond his control have led to the need for a fresh start. Colonel is, understandably, a bit grouchy about this adjustment and will need time and consistency to learn his new routine (the big boy is set in his ways!).
