Get ready to give lots of belly rubs. Grant, a 3-year-old 25-pound mixed breed Dachshund has come in from the cold to roll over for love and attention from his new forever home and family.Grant was found as a stray but life on the outside has not dimmed his confident spirit and eagerness to enjoy life with dogs and children. He is a verry happy and equally silly little boy who loves being with and around people. Since he is full grown at 3 years old, he is just the right size with his medium to high energy level but then will relax when everyone in the house is relaxing. Grant has experienced farm life, and he does very well with the other animals, and he shows respect for cats as well. He is a goofball and will demonstrate his goofiness with crawling on his belly to greet you when you come into the room. He is full of happiness and lots of wags. He thrives on attention and affection and will enjoy lots of time soaking up the love from his family. On his downtime, he will gladly entertain himself with his squeaker toys and such. Grant is working leash training but has already mastered his house and crate training. Grant loves to stop and smell the roses a bit too much on his walks so he will need lots of practice with leash walking to learn the ropes. His new family should provide consistent, firm, positive daily training and a regular routine as he adapts to a permanent home. Although Grant is house trained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. Grant is excited to bring his cheerful outlook on life to the forever home and family that will get down on the floor, give plenty of belly rubs, and take him into their laps and hearts and home.The adoption fee for Grant is $500.
