Pixie is a golden girl, think Dorothy with Blanche’s love of attention and cuddles, looking for her fellow girl or girls hoping to retire or working from home so she can either be at your side or looking out the window all day. Pixie came to us after her female owner passed away. Pixie is a healthy 13-year-old rat terrier with plenty of energy left for a few zoomies throughout the day. She takes to adult women quickly but will slowly warm up to men in the house. She doesn’t mind children once she warms up to them, but does not like being picked up, petting only. She ignores cats and other dogs and doesn’t mind them in the house as long as she gets a special spot under the blanket to cuddle while you are watching TV. She is possessive of food or treats being handed out though so those are best separate from others. She takes charge on a leash, so a fenced in yard would be preferred because when it warms up and gets sunny she will be loving the outside. She is crate trained and although potty trained, probably due to age has had a few accidents in the house. So, a bit of patience is needed.
