Age: 5 months oldSize: 37 lbsEstimated breed: Shepherd mixFoxy was found as a stray in rural Alabama on the side of the road, dragging herself along. Animal Control was able to pick her up and take her to the shelter, where x-rays revealed no broken bones or obvious signs of external injuries. During her time in the shelter, shelter staff noticed increased use of her hind legs, and due to her young age, believed she had a great chance at rehabilitation if a rescue stepped up to take her in and provide the care she needed. Foxy is now safe with our foster family and working on rebuilding her strength! She doesn't allow her disability to hinder her one bit, and will drag herself to follow her foster parents around. She loves playing with her doggie foster siblings and did well meeting the resident cat in the home too! She desperately wants to play with other dogs and gets sad when she can't keep up with them. We are getting her started with physical therapy to hopefully help her regain some mobility in her hind legs! Fortunately, she has full control of her tail and her bladder, so the only things affected seem to be her hind legs. She shows great potential already and can even drag herself into a standing position all by herself. Despite everything she's been through, Foxy has the sweetest, gentlest disposition and is such a good puppy. She deserves the absolute best forever home, and we are determined to find it for her!
